Hi and welcome to my little corner of the World Wide Web. My name is Keith Hallam and I have just started my journey into the fascinating world of amateur astronomy. On my site you will find pictures I have taken (all pictures, unless otherwise stated, have been taken by me), the equipment that I use and my experiences (and many pitfalls!!).

I try to get out as often as I can to view the night sky and take photos, but anyone who knows the British weather will also know that is something that's easier said than done. In fact since I started to get into this rewarding pastime there have been very few occasions when conditions actually permit viewing. This in itself is very frustrating, but all part of the experience.

In time I will hope to also be including an overview of what you may find or see in the heavens along with the basics of how telescopes work and the different types that are available. I will also have what I hope will be a very comprehensive glossary of astronomical terms, because if you are anything like me you will find it’s a minefield of jargon out there.

I will try to upload regular star charts and things of interest to look out for during each month.
